Excerpt written by Joel about the podcast discussion:

"John Tunison is a former Navy Nuclear Power Submarine Officer who transitioned to a career at Shell Oil in 2003. John graduated from the Naval Academy with a major in Political Science, but he has since gone on to a career in corporate finance. John has hired and mentored numerous military officers over the last 14 years. He has also been extremely successful, achieving the position of Chief Financial Officer with a couple of companies.

In this episode, you will hear John’s advice about:

  • The importance of frequently reinventing yourself, because “what got you here won’t get you there”.

  • Reading recommendations for several books such as Execution, Reengineering the Corporation, Leading to Change and Who Moved My Cheese.

  • Says a key to his success has been finding and cultivating mentors.

This is a great episode packed with simple tips, which you can apply immediately, in an effort to reach your goals.

Joel"
